ABOUT ABOUT

The Oyster Shoals 2nd Annual Chesapeake Seafood Boil takes place Saturday, May 13th starting at 5:00pm with live bluegrass from Bill Jenkins and The Virginia Mountain Boys!

Enjoy the Springtime weather in Warsaw, Va with a freshly prepared Bay Boil Bag from Chef Kay Campbell and Andy Beale of Old Rapp Taphouse as the sweet and lonesome bluegrass sounds of the Va piedmont drift off the Oyster Shoals stage. Music starts at 6:00pm. Attendees can choose a ticket to the show with or without dinner.

Singer, song-writer, and cross-picking guitar virtuoso Bill Jenkins, member of the Hall of Fame Room at the Virginia Musical Museum, and his string band, the Virginia Mountain Boys, bring to life the authentic music of the Southern Appalachian Mountains, including early bluegrass ballads and camp meeting songs, in a style that is uniquely their own.

Sweet and lonesone harmonies, captivating arrangements, and a rollicking good time are the hallmark of this legendary band which has some of the finest string musicians and vocalists in the USA.  The ballads are raw and undiluted like the emotions they bring forth. The seldom heard but universally loved songs and ballads paint a picture of the lives of the immigrants and their descendents who eked out a hard scrabble living in the hills and hollows of the majestic Appalachians.

LIke last year, Chef Kay's Famous Chesapeake Seafood Boil Bags come with a hodgepodge of local seafood; including, but not limited to, shrimp, crawfish, scallops, clams, mussels with local corn and sausage served steaming hot!

Tickets are $50 with the Seafood Boil dinner and $20 without.
